Terms and Conditions

1. Students agree to be respectful towards host families. This will include meeting at agreed times and agreed places, interacting with Host Family members, keeping bedroom and bathroom tidy, being respectful of household property, being home on time, asking permission to use the family phone or internet, and being respectful of daily family routines.
2. For students participating in Voluntary Work Placements: Students agree to be professional and respectful towards Voluntary Work Placement Providers, supervisors and work colleagues. This includes arriving and leaving work at agreed times, taking breaks at agreed times, dressing professionally and appropriately, displaying a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, being respectful of work property, adhering to safety requirements in the workplace, and not using phones during work hours except for agreed work-related purposes.
3. For students participating in our English Language School Programs: Students agree to be respectful towards our English Language School / Academy staff and other students. This includes arriving and leaving the school / academy at agreed times, taking breaks at agreed times, participating fully in classes and school activities, displaying a positive attitude and a willingness to learn, being respectful of school property, and not using phones or the internet during classes or school activities except for agreed purposes.
4. It is an absolute requirement that the school’s insurance policy covers students to participate in LXI programs. In the absence of school group insurance, individuals must acquire their own travel for our school programs and internship insurance for all work placement programs.
5. LXI also requires every student to arrange private health/travel insurance to cover any unforeseen medical expenses during your stay in Ireland. It is important to bring a copy of each student’s insurance policy and a European Health Insurance Card (formally known as E1 11). This card provides FREE access to a doctor, hospital and some dental services for members of the EU only. 
6. Foreseeable immigration/visa issues and preventable disciplinary issues (such as alcohol or drug abuse, public disorder, violence, illegal behaviour, incidents requiring police involvement) will require LXI staff involvement outside of the standard level of support provided as part of all of our programs. In order to ensure that issues are addressed appropriately, where such foreseeable or preventable issues arise, it is mandatory that LXI staff manage and resolve the situation. This assistance is provided by LXI at an additional cost of €25 per hour and is a condition of participation in any LXI program. This is payable by the school, agent or individual who made the initial booking.
7. Students agree to immediately advise their teacher/group leader and/or a member of the LXI team of any illness, injury or incident.
8. Students agree not to directly approach or accept direct contact from LXI clients or contacts for the purpose of by-passing LXI to establish or participate in future language programs. Directly contacting or accepting direct contact from LXI clients or contacts will result in the school being excluded from any further LXI programs.
9. LXI reserve the right to remove you from your Host Family house or Work Placement Company, if  LXI deem it appropriate or necessary to do so.
10. LXI carry no responsibility towards you passing or failing your academic year, when providing our program in Ireland.
11. For students under the age of 18, it is essential that your parent or legal guardian completes and signs the CONSENT FORM which is additional to these Terms and Conditions. This includes the section where they acknowledge that they have read and understand these terms and conditions.
